News from “Z” Letter Manager for the Area Four Incoming QSL Bureau :

  • I received a small box of “Z” cards (about 150-160) in the first week of February 2026.  All have been sorted and mailed out. The database with account status and number of cards pending future mailing is up to date.  See https://www.cdxa.org/w4qsl-bureau/index.php

  • I received a small batch of cards last week and as of today about 25% have been mailed.  I expect to have the rest out to you by Christmas.  Note that in a number of cases I have a single card for someone but there is no cash account and the SASE’s on file here have postage for two or three ounces already attached. I hate to waste money on postage, so in those cases, I have elected to hold the card until the next batch of cards comes in to see if there will be more cards for the station.  If a second batch of cards does not produce any more cards to go with the single card, then I will go ahead and mail the single card. In other words, I will hold a single card for a short time to save expense but will send it on within a few months regardless.   73

  • Your “4Z” Letter Manager received a stack of QSL cards about nine-inches high in late September 2025. Initial sorting has been completed and the first envelopes were mailed 09 Oct 2025. Sorting and mailing will continue in October and until completed.

Also please note that a few edits have been made to the web pages to clarify the handling fees charged by the Area-Four Incoming Bureau and how I handle fee payments that come to me directly. Please be sure to review the procedures before sending SASEs or funds for your QSL Bureau Account. 73!

  • Area-4 QSL bureau has closed their PayPal account

The Area-4 QSL bureau has closed their PayPal account for donations and fee payments and the link has been removed from their website.
A new PayPal account is planned and should appear on their website when it is in operation.
If you still have the old PayPal address please do not use it.

  • Your new “Letter Manager”

As the new “Letter Manager” I have completed an audit and verified the entries at the Card Status database.

At this time, I only have two cards for a single user.

The “4Z” Bureau has 98 users who have SASE(s) on file. There are 47 cash customers and a total of $409.26 on file. If we exclude the high-volume users who have more than $15 on file, the average deposit is $4.09.

There is one recent SK with funds on file that I am working to return as appropriate.

73 and good DX from W4ZD!
